What if we lived
without money?

The gift economy is a way of living where you give what you can, take what you need, and trust that generosity creates abundance for everyone. No money exchanged, no keeping score - just people sharing freely.

No scarcity.
No competition.
No isolation.
Just abundance.

Why gift culture?

Our current system isn't great:

  • →You're trapped in endless striving - never enough money, never enough time
  • →Competition turns everyone into potential enemies instead of allies
  • →Work becomes soul-crushing when it's only about survival
  • →Scarcity breeds fear, anxiety, depression, and isolation
  • →We consume endlessly trying to fill the void of disconnection
What if we chose abundance instead?

What happens when
you choose generosity?

Deep Connection

When you share freely, others share back. This creates bonds of mutual care that replace the isolation of competition. You're no longer alone - you're part of a web of support and care.

Planet Healing

When you share what you have, you need less. This naturally reduces consumption and waste. The planet heals when we stop extracting more than we need.

True Equality

When resources flow freely, everyone gets what they need. No one hoards while others go without. Power comes from giving, not accumulating.

Meaningful Work

When you give freely, you see the direct impact of your contribution. People's gratitude and joy become your reward. Work becomes meaningful because it serves others, not just your bank account.

Peace & Harmony

When you give freely, others feel cared for rather than threatened. This creates trust and cooperation instead of competition. Conflict dissolves when everyone's needs are met.

A real experiment

After reading Charles Eisenstein's Sacred Economics, I had a simple thought: What if I actually tried living this way instead of just reading about it?

So I saved some money, moved to Portugal, and built a camp from scratch:

  • ✦Hosted dozens of strangers for free - no money, just curiosity and willingness to share
  • ✦Shared skills I'd taught professionally: permaculture, surfing, yoga, breathwork, meditation
  • ✦Planted food forests, fixed bikes, cooked together, learned that generosity creates its own momentum

It wasn't perfect. But it felt more alive, more connected, than anything I'd experienced in the "normal" economy.
